This is the third in a multi-part series about items for your baby registry. Find part one, a review of the Baby Care 101 Video, here. Part two, a review of the Mamaroo Infant Swing, is here. I’ll briefly state again that 1) You should hold your baby shower at least two months in advance, as twins almost always come about a month early, and 2) Use babylist, which allows you to register for items from any website (not just, say Amazon or Babies R Us).
The 4Moms Infant Tub
Have you ever tried holding a tiny, slippery newborn in one hand while getting soap ready and pouring water out of a cup with the other? Or wondered whether you were going to scald your precious? Stressful!
I love the 4Moms Infant Tub because it has a lot of great features:
- It tells the water temperature so you don’t accidentally burn (or freeze) your delicate little one. I really relied on this. I mean, I was your typical panicked first-time mom, and without this built-in thermometer (which, by the way, beeps loudly and blinks a red light when the water is too hot or a blue light when too cold) I would have been a lot more stressed at bath time.
- It has a separate compartment that stores clean water for rinsing from the bathwater, which quickly becomes soapy and dirty. Super helpful.
- It has a sticky, gently sloping surface at the back, which keeps baby upright.
- It has a handy drainage spout and is small enough to fit in most sinks.
The website lists it at $60, and most retailers offer it for about $50. Not a must-have, that’s for sure, but a very nice item to add to your baby registry to give you some well-needed peace of mind. You can tell this tub was designed by some very thoughtful moms!
